Yoga After A Long Day Working A Home

Working from home can be a very stressful activity. Life is hard enough without added anxiety. Right now, it seems like it is even busier than usual. We stay in a constant state of flux. We move from one thing to another without giving a break to reflect, relax and recollect ourselves.  Even at home, now, more like our new normal of an office environment, we often see ourselves still at a rapid pace.

I have been saying for the last year or two that I wanted to include yoga in my daily regime. Right now, my stress relief comes from weight training and cardio exercises. However, it looks like Yoga is a true aspect of relaxation.  Not only can yoga allow you to gain strength, balance, and flexibility, but it can also help reduce stress, and sleep better especially after a long period of hard work.

There are many more benefits tied to yoga, but today we are going to provide you with some moves that can help you maintain a positive mood while working from home.

  1. The Reclined Bound Angle Pose

This pose serves as a beneficial restoration pose, that allows you to develop a posture that helps relax the lower back, provides relief from anxiety or insomnia, and can even help lower your blood pressure. In addition, this pose can be done with or without props, such as yoga mats, and is a great way to begin your relaxation.

2.                  The Legs Up The Wall Pose

Doing this pose with a folded towel or blanket under your hips can allow your body to drain  fluids from your lower body to your abdomen, that cause swollen ankles and tired knees. In addition to decreasing lower back pain, this pose can also help alleviate headaches and cramps.

3.                  The Child's Pose

This pose includes curling up into a comfy ball, for as short as 30 seconds up to several minutes. The Child's Pose gives a stretch to your hips, ankles, thighs and shoulders, and can relieve neck and back pain as well.

4.                  The Forward Bend Pose

This pose can be done both standing up and sitting. It allows for stimulating your liver and kidneys and can help relieve your hips, hamstrings, and calves. In addition, this pose can help relieve headaches after a long day of screen time, and reduce menopause symptoms.
